last updated June 13, 2026
docbin (the service) is operated by Cryptik Consulting LLC (we, us). by creating an account, pasting a document, or otherwise using the service you agree to these terms. if you do not agree, do not use docbin.
1. the service
docbin hosts and renders documents - markdown, html, code, plain text, and logs - at stable urls, with immutable versioning, optional expiry, and a public api. we may change, add, or remove features at any time, and we may impose or adjust limits (upload size, file count, request rate) by tier.
2. eligibility
you must be at least 13 years old to use docbin, and old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. by using the service you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. accounts
accounts are created through GitHub sign-in. you are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your GitHub credentials and any docbin api keys secure. api keys are shown once at creation; treat them like passwords. you can also use docbin anonymously through the keyless paste endpoint, subject to stricter limits and a fixed expiry.
4. acceptable use
your use of docbin is subject to our acceptable use policy, which is part of these terms. content or conduct that violates the policy may be removed, and accounts may be suspended or terminated, without notice and without refund.
5. your content
you retain ownership of everything you upload. you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to store, reproduce, and serve your content as needed to operate the service - including rendering it on the separate raw content origin and generating link-preview images. you are responsible for having the rights to everything you post.
you control visibility per document: private, unlisted, or public. unlisted and public documents are reachable by anyone with the link. do not post anything as unlisted or public that you need to keep confidential.
6. pro subscriptions and billing
docbin Pro is a paid subscription billed through Stripe on a recurring monthly or annual basis. by subscribing you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method each period until you cancel. you can cancel or manage your plan at any time from pro membership in settings. prices may change; we will give notice of changes before they take effect for your next renewal. refunds are governed by our refund policy.
if your plan ends or is downgraded, the free-tier limits apply to your account again, and documents that exceed those limits may be removed. back up anything large before downgrading.
7. moderation and termination
we may review, remove, or disable access to any content, and suspend or terminate any account, if we believe it violates these terms or the acceptable use policy, creates risk or legal exposure, or harms the service or other users. we may also remove content in response to valid legal requests. termination for a violation does not entitle you to a refund.
8. disclaimers
the service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any document will be retained, available, or rendered correctly.
